Research Agenda
The Family Math Research Agenda guides all aspects of the Center for Family Math’s research activities. The agenda provides recommendations for the kinds of research that will help family math flourish and promote equity, family leadership, and the development of community-based resources. The research agenda has seven priority areas:

The goal in sharing these research priorities is to help researchers, funders, and policymakers generate the kinds of new Family Math knowledge and understanding that will propel the field toward social justice. Please review the full Family Math Research Agenda and sign up for our Family Math Newsletter.
Literature Review
The Family Math literature review, initiated by a predecessor of the Center for Family Math, answers the following questions:
- What skills serve as the foundation for children’s math achievement, and what other characteristics are linked to differences in early math?
- What aspects of family math engagement are most strongly related to children’s math learning, achievement, and attitudes?
- What do we know about how families engage in children’s early math learning in their daily lives?
The literature review authors also wrote several short briefs with recommendations for policymakers, practitioners and researchers.
